I am a person living in recovery. That is, I am learning & practicing the awareness and skills that direct me on a path of healing, connection, and purpose. Sobriety is part of my recovery journey. In case you’re curious, I have been free from any mind-altering substances since September of 2017. The recovery process is one that opens our hearts by being vulnerable, honest and gentle, and it is rarely accomplished alone. Today, I am able to practice self-love, challenge myself, take healthy risks, appreciate what I have, and surround myself with people who bring out the best in me.

At present, I am a full-time student at Southern Oregon University (SOU), working toward my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services. Additionally, I am a certified Peer Support Specialist and walk beside others in their recovery journey.

Fun (and not-so-fun) Facts About Me:
  • My “happy place” is at the beach
  • I enjoy time alone to charge my energy and embrace my introverted nature
  • With two children, I am a single mom
  • I’m outgoing, loud, and funny around my friends
  • I am a high school dropout with a college degree
  • I am a survivor of sexual assault and domestic violence
  • My new passions include photography and traveling to unfamiliar places
